In the future, climate change’s effects will be felt in full force. Our gloabl hydrological cycles will disrupted, thus creating a need to conserve fresh water at any costs. Even though compost toilets are already being implemented in certain rural areas, their benefits have not been truly given credence. In the future however, they may prove to be a valuable tool to help us save freshwater, as well as returning nutrients to the soil to spur plant growth. In addition, municipal water and waste management groups will save money simply by erasing the need to treat and dispose of blackwater. I would be willing to bet that compost toilets or something similar will be implemented on a wider scale in the future.
