Climbing and Shadows

The installation that I’ve come up with will apply to the social and aesthetic aspects of sustainability. My installation will accomplish this by doubling as a climbing structure as well as displaying aesthetically-pleasing shadows as art through various patterns. With this instillation in place, passersby will have the opportunity to slow down to enjoy the structure as a place to play or hang out. Furthermore, it will be an art piece when the light is shining for those that don’t have the time or motivation to slow down and interact with it on a physical level. The patterns used will make it easy for the structure to complete both objectives by being easily climbable with plenty of hand holds. Those same easy to grasp hand holds will double as interesting patterns to be viewed whenever a nice day occurs. Having both objectives allows the structure to have purpose no matter the weather.
